Hearing + Applying = Transformation

Matthew 7:24–27 NASB95
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. “And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock. “Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. “The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell—and great was its fall.”
As I study this teaching from our Lord Jesus, the entirety of these verses have these things in common:
All the hearing and doing is deeply connected to a personal relationship with Him
Out of personal relationship, Jesus’ desires us to come to Him and ask Him for what He has for us -
When we ask - what He gives is good
The good the we receive from Him are
Knowing Him
Freedom
Abundance
Out of that which we receive we give
I do not see a different way
It is us assessing our own life and finding what we need from the Lord
Asking Him for that which we need
then helping others
Not doing what He says is directly connected with Not knowing Who He Is
Hearing + Applying are directly connected with Who you are in relationship with!
“Jesus places immense value in the relationship potential of your weaknesses and your sin issues”
Another great truth we derive from this passage of Scripture is this:
“No one is responsible for you except you”
The Lord issues a strong command and waring that says:
Matthew 7:1 NASB95
“Do not judge so that you will not be judged.
We hear it now a days and we hear it like this: “Don’t be a hater” or “You can’t judge me” or “Who are you to judge me?”
And you are right, no one can judge the veracity and genuineness of your relationship with Jesus Christ or the lack there off except you.
